KANSAS CITY
"As in Mexico and Centro America, here in Kansas City we produce “Dia de Muertos” promoting and strengthening the cultural roots of the celebration
within our community. Using the iconic character “La Catrina” as an emblem, we include important details like “Ofrendas”, “Calaveras”, “Alebrijes” and our
ever-popular Community Altar to open our celebration to everyone regardless of ethnicity or origin.
We all have someone who has passed away but lives in our memory and in our heart.
We invite you to honor their life by painting your face in a “Calavera” style makeup and wearing some of your loved one’s artifacts, bring a picture and place it in our Altar or simply light an incense in their memory, during your visit.
Yes, this celebration is a Memorial Day with Mexican flair and spice. Welcome to our celebration of love for one more hug, one more conversation, one more meal, one more smile, one more memory."
